Employee benefits are an important part of total compensation at Judge Baker Children's Center (JBCC). As such, JBCC provides a wide range of health, time off, retirement, and other benefits designed to meet the many needs of our staff. All the benefits listed here are available to employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least 17.5 hours per week. (Benefits are subject to change.)
JBCC provides medical benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Health plan costs are subsidized by JBCC with coverage for individual, individual plus one, or family.
Employees may choose to enroll in Dental Blue, a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. This plan allows members to see participating dentists or dentists out of network. Covered benefits include diagnostic, preventive and restorative services.
Tax-deferred Annuity Plans:
This voluntary plan is designed to help the employee provide retirement income with current tax savings. Participation in this plan is on a voluntary basis. Participants may elect to make contributions on a pre-tax basis, or a post-tax basis (through a Roth plan).
JBCC offers a defined contribution plan to employees who have worked at JBCC for two years. JBCC contributes a percentage of the eligible employee’s salary. Eligible employees are also qualified for a match contribution from JBCC. Funds are vested immediately.
Basic Group Life Insurance:
JBCC provides basic group term life insurance coverage in the amount of one times the employee's annual salary up to $50,000.
Long term Disability:
JBCC provides long term disability insurance at no cost to the employee. This benefit helps to replace some income if an employee is unable to work for longer than 90 days.
Voluntary income protection benefits:
JBCC offers supplemental life insurance, spousal and dependent life insurance, accident insurance and short term disability plans for employee purchase.
Flexible Spending Accounts:
Flexible Spending Accounts allows employees to set money aside, deducted from each paycheck to provide reimbursement for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses that are not reimbursed from any other source.
Dependent Care Flexible Spending Plan:
All employees are eligible to set aside a portion of their salary, up to $5,000 to pay for eligible dependent care expenses for children.
Health Reimbursement Account (HRA):
Employees who enroll in the medical plan are automatically enrolled in the HRA. JBCC offers employees a generous contribution to that HRA that will assist in off-setting certain out of pocket costs.
JBCC offers benefit-eligible employees vacation, paid holidays, and sick time.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
The EAP is a confidential program designed to help employees manage their work and life problems. The EAP provides assistance for the emotional and mental well-being of our employees.
