Psychiatric and Nursing Services

Manville’s Director of Psychiatric Services is Michelle Malnati PMHCNS,BC, board certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Ms. Malnati provides initial psychiatric evaluations, ongoing psychiatric medication management, as well as coordination with primary care and specialty providers.  Ms. Malnati engages in a collaborative team model with the classroom, specialists and clinical teams to provide comprehensive psychiatric care. Ms. Malnati also works closely with Ms. Kathy Desmond, RN, school nurse. 

Students may be referred for psychiatric services by their Case Manager. Students are admitted to Manville’s Psychiatry Service based on clinical factors and availability of openings, as well as family’s access to services outside of Manville. 

Manville employs a full time nurse with a BSN and extensive pediatric and psychiatric experience. Manville’s nursing services include assessing student health status and identifying health problems on a daily basis, administering medications and developing individual nursing care plans as necessary and requested.
