Camp Baker

History of Camp Baker at JBCC

In 2008, Dr. John R. Weisz, former President and CEO of Judge Baker Children’s Center, brought the Summer Treatment Program to Boston, making it the only STP in New England. The program was originally directed by Dr. Erika K. Coles, who was trained by Dr. William E. Pelham, creator of STP, at the University of Buffalo.

In 2011, Dr. James Slavet, licensed psychologist at the Manville School, became the new director of the program.

In 2016, Dr. Allison Jekogian, became the director of the program and Dr. James Slavet continued to be involved in the program as the senior consultant.  In the summer of 2017 Dr. Jekogian was a senior consultant, supporting the newly-appointed Associate Directors, Dr. Sarah Tannenbaum and Andrew Cedrone, MEd., LMHC.

After a successful summer in 2018, the JBCC team decided to relocate and rebrand the program as Camp Baker under the leadership of Associate Director, Dr. Sarah Tannenbaum, in an effort to provide participating children with a real camp experience. With the supports of the program and this new camp site, we believe the campers will experience even more fun and success!
