Nancy K. Gajee, PhD

Director of Outpatient Clinical Services

Dr. Nancy Gajee is Director of Outpatient Clinical Services. She joined Judge Baker Children’s Center in March 2019. She graduated with her B.A. from Columbia University and obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She completed her internship and post-doctoral training at May Institute.

Dr. Gajee was previously at May Institute for over 12 years. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Special Projects and Director of Clinical Training for the APA-accredited doctoral internship program. She developed a toolkit in partnership with Work Inc. that was successfully implemented to train high-functioning young adults with autism spectrum disorder to enter the workforce and manage their anxiety. She was previously Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services and oversaw outpatient programs across three community mental health clinics in eastern Massachusetts. She also served on the Institutional Review Board, was a founding member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council, and directed a multi-family group program and the school-based counseling initiative.

Dr. Gajee specializes in treating children, adolescents and young adults with co-occurring psychiatric, developmental and behavioral challenges, with a focus on trauma-informed cognitive behavioral and other evidence-based practices. She has several years’ experience training bachelor’s-, master’s- and doctoral-level clinicians and direct care workers. She has conducted continuing education trainings for the Department of Developmental Services, and presented research on mental illness and evidence-based treatments at national and international conferences.

She is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, American Psychological Association, Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Society for Clinical Psychology, and Association for Psychological Science.

As Director of Outpatient Clinical Services at JBCC, Dr. Gajee is responsible for oversight of all outpatient programs. Her goal is to expand and develop programs to help achieve JBCC's mission of disseminating and delivering high-quality evidence-based psychotherapy practices to improve the lives of children and families.
