Next Step Summer Program 2015

Next Step is designed to prepare high school students with Asperger’s Disorder (or other related conditions) for a successful transition to college.  The program assesses, develops and refines the critical social and pragmatic skills that these students need in order to master their college experience.  Students participate in all or just some of the offered sessions. Last year we piloted the program to 21 students/ families with very positive results. Robert P. Franks, Ph.D., a clinical child psychologist and national leader in children’s mental health, has been named president and CEO of Judge Baker Children’s Center (JBCC). Franks is currently director of the Center for Effective Practice and vice president of the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut, Inc. Dr. William R. Beardslee, a Trustee and Senior Research Advisor at Judge Baker Children's Center, will receive the 2013 Gerald L.
